Backend Team Leader (Java)
Location: Damascus, Syria (Hybrid/On-site)
Employment Type: Full-time (8 hours/day, 5 days/week)

*About the Role*
We are looking for an experienced Backend Team Leader (Java) to lead our backend engineering team.
In this role, you will combine technical leadership with hands-on development, guiding the team in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications while ensuring high engineering standards and delivery quality.

*Responsibilities*
* Lead and mentor a team of backend developers.
* Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
* Drive the architecture and implementation of scalable microservices.
* Review code and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
* Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
* Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
* Participate in technical planning, estimation, and solution design.
* Optimize application performance and database interactions.
* Contribute to CI/CD and deployment processes.

*Required Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
* Previous experience leading or mentoring a development team.
* Strong experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
* Solid understanding of Microservices Architecture.
* Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and HTTP.
* Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar).
* Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
* Good understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
* Good written and spoken English.

*Nice to Have*
* Experience with Apache Camel or other enterprise integration frameworks.
* Experience with Golang.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
